Holy Avtar Vani - Shabad No. 23

Anginat hi naam ne tere anginat asthan vi ne;
Jithhe sochan pahunch na sakkan lakkhan hor jahan vi ne.
Sankh karorhan keh ke tainoon aiven bhaar uthana ey;
Heraferi akkhran di akkhran da tana bana ey.
Akkhran di hi khed hai sari geet guna de gande ne;
Akkhran de hi bol bane ne likkhe bole jande ne.
Lakkhan honge date bhaven gur varga koi data nahin;
Kahe avtar bina gur pure aj tak kise pachhata nahin.

Countless are Thy names and countless are Thy regions;
There are millions of other planets which are beyond the reach of human thoughts and wisdom.
It is futile effort to describe Thee in millions and billions;
It is the jugglery and network of words.
It is a mere play of words to sing Thy glory;
Only words from expressions, and words are written and spoken.
There may be millions of benevolents but none can compare with the True Master;
Avtar says, nobody has ever known God without the perfect True Master.

Meaning
The names of God are countless, and His dwellings are countless. There are millions of other domains which are beyond comprehension of human intellect. It is to carry unnecessary burden to denote God in millions and billions. It is merely a jugglery, an interweaving of letters and numbers. Singing the praise of God’s qualities is just a play of letters. The letters constitute words, which are spoken and written. There may be millions of donors, but none like the True Master. Avtar says, none has ever realized God without the True Master.
